Inviting Members

Members are added at the organization level. Once a user is a member, you can put them on one or more teams to give them project access.

Business plan required

Inviting members requires the Business plan. On Starter, the invite button opens a prompt to start a free trial. Upgrade or start a trial from the Billing tab.

Send an invite

  1. Open Organizations → <your org> → Members.
  2. Click Invite members.
  3. Enter one or more email addresses (use + Add email for bulk invites).
  4. Click Send invitations.

Each invitee gets an email with a one-time invite link. The link is valid for 7 days; after that, resend the invitation from the Members tab.

What the invitee sees

  • Already has a GetWebstack account → clicking the link logs them in and activates their membership immediately.
  • No account yet → the link drops them at sign-up; the membership is activated as soon as they finish registration with the same email.

Pending invites appear in the Members table with a pending status until the invitee completes the flow.

Roles

When you invite a member, they receive the Member role by default. From the Members table you can change their role using the role dropdown.

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything. Manage billing, transfer ownership, delete the org. The organization's billing owner (the user who created it) always holds this role.
AdminInvite/remove members, create and edit teams, manage projects. Cannot delete the organization or change billing ownership.
MemberDefault role. No org-level admin powers — project access comes from team membership.

Role changes take effect immediately and are reflected on the user's next request.

Removing members

From the Members table, click the remove icon next to a user, then confirm. Removing a member:

  • Revokes all org-level access immediately.
  • Removes the user from every team in this organization.
  • Does not delete projects, secrets, or anything they created — those stay with the organization.
  • Frees up a seat for the next billing period.

Seat accounting

Each active member consumes one seat. Pending invites do not count until accepted. To add capacity:

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Adjust Member seats up.
  3. The change is prorated for the current period; downgrades take effect at period end.

Troubleshooting

  • "Subscription inactive" when clicking Invite — payment lapsed. The owner needs to renew in the Billing tab.
  • Invite email never arrived — check spam, then click Resend from the Members table. The link expires after 7 days.
  • "User already a member" — the email is already on the org (possibly under a different status); look for them in the Members table and update there instead.
